The latest major update for the Line 6 Helix series, version 3.70, was released on November 16, 2023. This significant update not only addressed bug fixes but also introduced 8 new guitar amps, 7 new guitar cabs, 2 new bass amps, 2 new bass cabs, 5 new effects, and several other new features.
It’s been ten months since that substantial update, and users of the Helix series haven't received any further updates.
On June 26, 2024, Eric Klein, the Chief Product Design Architect for Yamaha Guitar Group and product owner of Line 6 Helix, appeared on the Silent Stage podcast (link below), hosted by Steve Sterlacci. During the podcast, Eric and Steve explored various aspects of the Helix and the future direction of Line 6. At one point in the discussion, Eric mentioned something that caught our attention: regarding the next update, he said, “Next is 3.8 that’s going to be late summer or early fall, probably.”
Now that summer has passed and we’re at the beginning of autumn, we wonder—following Eric’s statement—can we expect a major update soon?
We, like many Helix enthusiasts, are eagerly awaiting any news from Line 6. We can’t help but wonder what developments the next update will bring to the Helix series.
Based on previous updates, we’re hopeful for the addition of several new amps, cabs, and effects. Stay tuned, as we keep our fingers crossed for an announcement in the near future.
