The new update for Apple Logic Pro 11.1, along with Logic Pro 2.1 for iPad, introduces several new features to one of the most popular digital audio workstations (DAWs) on the market. A standout addition is the recreation of the famous Quantec Room Simulator (QRS).
Known for its unique reverb sound from the 1980s, the Quantec Room Simulator is now available in Logic Pro. This new plug-in was developed through an official collaboration between Quantec and Apple. According to Apple, the developers worked with Quantec founder Wolfgang Buchleitner’s original schematics, algorithms, and code to deliver an authentically recreated reverb experience.

Another valuable addition is the enhanced plugin management feature. Users can now find and add any plugin directly from the plugin menu using the Search and Add Plugin key command. This provides quick access to plugins without the need to click on a channel strip insert and supports searching by category, company name, or even a partial plugin name—making the workflow smoother and more efficient.
An improvement that enhances workflow is the new ability to reorder channel strips directly in the Mixer, keeping sessions more organized.
Below is a list of the most important additional improvements:
Beat Breaker now includes a Bypass Below control that you can automate to allow low frequencies to remain unprocessed.
Sampler now offers a new command “Create Zones split at Transients.”
Multi-track AAC files are now supported.
The Input and Output assignment fields in the New Track Sheet are now searchable.
Plug-ins or sends can now be easily removed from a channel strip in the Mixer by Command-clicking them.
It is now possible to select multiple tracks along with regions using the Marquee tool.
The Join Regions/Notes command now works on selected Flex Pitch notes.
There is a new Record setting in the Track Inspector when Internal MIDI In is active that allows incoming MIDI to be recorded along with the internal MIDI.
In Beat Breaker, the Time Graph is now shown in the background when the view is set to Volume mode.
Performance is improved in projects with large Scores.
